People on earth had moved on from their lives with passengers. The passengers, upon returning, had discovered that they had to mend and get back several relationships. It included saving people’s lives most of the time. They started following their callings and completed all the tasks as asked by those callings.
Ben and Michaela Stone’s main characters started calling their abilities to hear and see things “Calling”. In the first season, the passengers who returned from Flight 828 started realizing that they had miraculously gotten the ability to know, see and hear things they weren’t supposed to. The only problem they faced up in the air was turbulence. The passengers were oblivious that they had been missing and presumed dead for five years along with the flight. But the time in the flight did not pass as fast as it did on earth. The story revolved around Montego Air Flight 828, which returned from Jamaica to New York City after five years of taking off. The viewership of the show decreased every season, which may have been one of the many reasons for the show to be cancelled. Seasons 3 released on April 1, 2021, with 13 episodes. But NBC has announced that it will not continue to make further seasons for the show. Manifest, a supernatural drama that aired on NBC in September 2018, recently completed three seasons.
